Purpose
This User Manual will guide you through the process of configuring the connection between VendSoft and Cantaloupe (USA Technologies). This integration will activate the automatic telemetry data transmission to the VendSoft server.
Step 1. Map ePort device to machine in VendSoft
Go to the screen Machines > View/Edit Machine and enter in the Telemetry ID field the value of the ePort device serial number. This will tell VendSoft which ePort device is attached to each machine.
Step 2. Define Column Maps
Please follow the instructions from the article Column Maps (Cantaloupe).
Step 3. Setup the connection details between SeedLive and VendSoft
Now it’s time to set up the connection parameters between SeedLive and VendSoft. This is done again in the SeedLive system.
Go to section Reports > Report Register.
Click the button Add Transport in the section New Report Information.
In the window that opens, enter the following data:
Transport Name: enter some name to identify that this transport will communicate with VendSoft, for example, VendSoft HTTP.
Transport Type: select HTTP POST
URL: enter https://secure.vendsoft.com/usat/report
Username: enter the email that you use to log into VendSoft.
After you enter transport data, click the button Test Transport. You should see the result “Success”:
Finally, click the button Add Transport to create the transport.
Step 4. Create CSV Report
After the transport details are configured, it is time to create your reports that will send data to VendSoft. This is done again in the SeedLive system. One of these reports is the “Single Transaction Data Export(CSV)” report.
Go to the screen Reports > Report Register. Click the button Create below the Reports Section:
In the section New Report Information enter the following data:
Report Name: Select from the list the item Single Transaction Data Export(CSV)
Available Transports: select the transport that you just created, VendSoft HTTP
After you enter the data, click the Save button to save your report.
The report will appear in the Reports Section:
Step 5. Create DEX file Report
The other type of report that you have to configure is the DEX file report.
As in Step 4., on the screen Reports > Report Register, click the button Create below the Reports Section.
In the section New Report Information enter the following data:
Report Name: Select from the list the item DEX File
Available Transports: select the transport that you just created, VendSoft HTTP
After you enter the data, click the Save button to save your report.
The report will appear in the Reports Section:
Step 6. Check the received transaction data
When you start receiving data in VendSoft, run the report Telemetry > Transaction Log and check the data:
Here you should be able to see the product and the selection. If the Product column is empty and the Selection column contains a four-digit MDB code instead of the selection, then there is still an issue with the mapping.
You can see all the other screens that will show the telemetry data in the article Where can I see the telemetry data in VendSoft?
