To integrate VendSoft with any telemetry provider that supports the NAMA VDI protocol, please follow the steps below:
Step 1: Obtain Your VDI Customer ID
Navigate to the Profile screen within your VendSoft account.
Locate and note down your VDI Customer ID.
Step 2: Configure Your Telemetry Devices
Contact your telemetry provider's support team and request that they configure your devices to send DEX data to VendSoft. Ensure they use the NAMA VDI protocol and provide them with the following parameters:
VDI URL:
https://secure.vendsoft.com/vdi/report
VDI Customer ID:
<Your VDI Customer ID from the Profile screen>
Step 3: Trigger a Manual DEX Readout During Restocking
Important: After restocking your vending machine, you must manually trigger a DEX readout by pressing the designated button on the credit card reader.
This additional DEX readout is crucial because while DEX data is typically transmitted twice daily, a manual readout during restocking ensures that VendSoft receives the most up-to-date sales information, leading to more accurate sales calculations.
How to Trigger a Manual DEX Readout Based on Your Telemetry Unit
Depending on your telemetry device model, the manual DEX readout is triggered differently:
π‘ CPI Cora
If your telemeter device is CPI Cora, press and hold the Wrench button for 3 seconds to trigger a manual DEX readout.
The wrench icon is located in the top-right corner of the device.
π‘ MEI Advance 5000 / CPI Easitrax
If your device is the CPI/MEI Advance 5000 unit, you must press the C button located on the unit, as shown below.
Watch the LED indicators to confirm that the DEX session has started and completed successfully.
