How to Manage Your Security Settings: Change Password and Enable Two-Factor Authentication

Updated this week

To ensure your VendSoft account stays secure, you can easily update your password and enable two-factor authentication (2FA) through your account settings. Follow the steps below to manage your security settings.

Accessing the Security Settings

  1. Go to the upper-right corner of the screen on the web interface.

  2. Click on your name to open the dropdown menu.

  3. Select “Security” from the dropdown.

Change Your Password

If you wish to update your password:

  1. On the Security page, under the “Change Password” section, enter your current password.

  2. Click “Verify”.

  3. A new screen will appear, allowing you to enter your new password.

  4. Confirm and update the new password to complete the change.

💡 Forgot your password?

If you’ve forgotten your password and can’t log in:

  • Click on “Forgot current password?”

  • Follow the steps to recover and reset your password via email.

Enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

Adding 2FA provides an extra layer of protection by requiring a code from your mobile device in addition to your password.

To enable 2FA:

  1. On the Security page, scroll to the Two-Factor Authentication section.

  2. Open an authenticator app on your mobile device (e.g., Google Authenticator, Authy).

  3. Choose one of the following setup methods:

    • Scan the QR code displayed on the screen.

    • Manually enter the secret key shown next to the QR code into your authenticator app.

  4. Your authenticator app will generate a 6-digit authentication code.

  5. Enter the code in the “Authentication code” field on the screen.

  6. Click “Verify and Enable” to activate 2FA.

  • Once you verify and enable 2FA, you’ll be shown a set of one-time recovery codes—make sure to store these in a safe place, as each can be used once if you lose access to your authenticator app.

  • The next time you log in, after entering your password, you’ll be prompted to enter a 6-digit code from your authenticator app to complete the sign-in process.

  • If you ever need to turn off two-factor authentication, you can do so from the same Security page by clicking “Disable 2FA.”
